Curcumin is the naturally occurring compound that gives turmeric its distinctive golden-yellow colour — and it's
also the compound most closely studied for turmeric's traditional health associations.
Why concentration varies
Not all turmeric contains the same amount of curcumin. The concentration depends heavily on the specific variety
grown, the soil it's grown in, and how it's processed after harvest — which is exactly why region-specific, GI-tagged
turmeric commands a different quality bracket than a generic blend.
How we test for it
Every processing batch at Agrreen is lab-checked for curcumin content before packaging, and that result is recorded
against that specific batch — not estimated once for an entire season's stock.
Note: Individual results from consuming turmeric can vary by health, lifestyle, and usage pattern — see our
Product Disclaimer for the full note on this.
